A Study of a Path on Quality of Life in Elderly Men£º Focusing on Relationship among Gender role Attitude, Social service Use Level, Self esteem, and Quality of Life

Abstract
Elderly men experience lots of difficulties especially in light of daily life owing to skilllessnessin private sphere. This leads to the outcome that the quality of life drops. This can be said tobe phenomenon of being caused by which elderly men perform the fixed gender role. The purpose of this study was to closely examine causality on a path in quality of life inelderly men based on the role theory and the prior findings. To do this, the survey subjectswere set to be 1328 elderly men aged over 65 among survey subjects of the 7th Korea WelfarePanel data. An analytical method was used structural equation model. As a result of this study,the elderly men``s quality of life could be known to have been shown by which self-esteemfunctioned as partial mediation in relationship with gender-role attitude and by which thesocial-service use level functioned as complete mediation. Suggesting policy for enhancing elderly men``s quality of life based on the results of this study,it can be mentioned the necessity for forming culture of pointing to the egalitarian gender-roleattitude and the necessity for supporting the individually-customized social service for elderly menand developing policy by cohort in the elderly.
